September Favourites

I don't think anyone understands how bloody excited I am for autumn ah its honestly my favourite time of the year!! Its been quite minimal on the makeup front this month as I've went back to school and not been going out as much but there's a few so I'll crack on!

My first favourite this month is the Curly Hair Mousse from Boots. A lot of the curly hair mousses I use leave my hair sticky and don't normally work and they cost around £5 or £6. So I decided to try the Boots own and its probably the best one I've tried. It is normally on offer for 2 for £2 so its a great price and has a nice smell to it too so I'd say its win-win!

As I've recently gone back to school and I'm now in my final year, my stress levels have increased. My favourite hand sanitiser is the Bath & Body Works Stress Relief, so it does two things for me. Kills germs and relieves stress!

My stress also causes me to get more spots, more and more spots. Like I need them! I've been trying out the Skin Therapy Overnight Calming Blemish Serum and its working! The smell is very strong and when you apply it, it burns but I suppose that's the tea tree in the serum working. Is started to reduce the redness and I haven't got as many as expected which is always great.

For a while now, I've wanted to try some makeup from Max Factor but just never known what to get or whats the best thing. And then I saw that the Clump Defy mascara was on offer for £7.99 so I thought I'd grab it while its cheap - and I don't regret it. Its bloody fantastic! It lengthens, adds volume and doesn't cause massive clumps, its probably a new holy grail mascara.

On holiday, I bought the Thierry Mugler Alien perfume and oh my god do I love this. I've used it most days since I got back from my holiday and from when its applied in the morning you can still smell it on the evening which I love! I just love everything about this from the packaging to the lil' perfume pump. Absolute beauty!

The Revlon bronzer in Bronzilla has been talked about a bit recently so I thought I'd check out the hype and I love it. Its not the best ever pigmentation but it means that you are able to build the product up easier. Its a lovely colour for my skin and adds a nice bronze look to the skin.

The Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25 Hour Nude Foundation is something I wouldn't have been able to live without this month. I love this foundation and it beats any other of my foundations. New HG product! Check out my full review here.

Lastly, is my new favourite concealer. The Rimmel Wake Me Up! I've never tried this concealer before but I love it for my under eyes as it really cancels out all of my purpleness under my eyes - which isn't a great look!

For other favourites I've only got two! The first is a remix song, which I wouldn't normally like, of The Frays' How to Save a Life. Listen to the song here. This remix makes me so happy and its so upbeat it gets me in the mood for everything!

My last favourite this month is my friends (cringe I know!). It was my friends 16th birthday on the 27th and it was one of the best nights of my life I can't thank her & all the rest of them enough!

What have you loved this month?

August Favourites

August is almost over and its back to school for most of us, including me. This summer there has been many things I've loved and here are most of them which are quite new purchases but are definite loves.

Firstly, I love the Revlon Moisture Stains!! I have 4 of them in Rio Rush, Shanghai Sizzle, Miami Fever and Parisian Passion which are all lovely colours. Out of them all my favourite is definitley Shanghai Sizzle as its a lovely orange toned red. They have 12 shades available online but only 8 at Boots to purchase. They normally cost £7.99 but I got them on offer for 2 for £10 which is great.

As I've tanned I've had to pull out my darker foundations and my favourite out of the few I have is my MAC Prolongwear in NW30 which is a perfect match for my skin for now. I love the Prolongwear makeup available at MAC and this foundation is my favourite for when my skin gets paler too.

Rimmel released a mascara with argan oil in recently and I thought I'd try it out. The brush is nothing special and its plastic so I assumed I wouldnt like it but I gave it a go and I adore this! The formula is lovely and is very wet which helps my eyelashes and keeps the curl in my eyelashes and suprisingly it doesn't smudge on my bottom lashes either!

I've wrote a post about the Maybelline FIT me concealer (here) and its been a saviour this month as its a perfect colour match and gives a lovely coverage. I can't say too much about it anymore without boring everyone!

I think the Bourjois Bronzer and Highlighter Duo is a new release from them which is a mix of the two products they released a few years ago. It has a very creamy touch but is a powder product which is lovely! The highlight looks very natural as it isn't too shimmery which can make my skin look oily at times. Also, the bronzer is one of my favourites and nice for contour as the shimmer in this isn't too much!

Onto random favourites, the George Ezra Wanted on Voyage album came out recently and I love the album so after the exam results this week I wanted to treat myself so went out and bought the vinyl to the CD and oh wow! Love his music so much and it sounds so much better on record.

Lastly, I began reading The Maze Runner series on holiday and finished the first two books on holiday and have came back and kept on reading it. The series is so good and if you like The Hunger Games, this is 10x better. Its a very easy read and every page gets better.

Have you got any of these or wanted to try any of the products mentioned?
Whats your favourite book series?

My Skincare Routine ♔ 2014

Happy Wednesday! Today I thought I would let you see into my Skincare Routine as I find these interesting to read and to write and so do many other people, so here we go. I like to take care of my skin, especially on days where I wear a lot of makeup, by using products tailored to my skin type and with what I like/have been recommended by others! My skin type is Dry Combination type 2 ~ as I was told by a doctor (I also have extremely sensitive skin and have a reaction to most products). My cheeks during the daytime get extremely tight but my forehead and chin are comfortable so I've found that this routine that I am doing at the moment is really helping to balance out all of my skin aspects.

Morning:

On a morning, I don't have much time to do anything really but I make sure I cleanse my face with the Peaches and Clean 3 in 1 Wash off Cleanser from Soap and Glory. Personally, I don't like the smell of this product but I feel like it really cleans my face after being asleep and gets all of the oils and dirt out from the previous day. I then go ahead and wash my face with the For Daily Youth scrub from Soap and Glory, I use this with the weird face scrub pad thing it came with when I first purchased it in 2012. This scrub seems to brighten my face and from the ingredients there doesn't seem to be any harsh chemicals that would break someone out. Before applying my makeup, I then moisturize with the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ by Clinique (what a bloody long name!!). This product specifically really helps with the balance in my skin and helps to lock in moisture where it is needed - I also think it helps to keep oil at bay but I'm not 100% sure!
Afternoon:
When I get in from school, the first thing I do is remove my makeup! I can't stand having it on for longer than needed. So I use the No7 Foaming Cleanser for Normal to Oily skin to remove my face makeup and carefully rub it over my eyes as when it gets in my eyes it hurts hella bad! I then wash this off and apply the Bioderma Sensibio H2O - Micelle Solution water to remove any more dirt and mascara that is left on my face. After, I pat dry with a hand towel. I only do this step to roughly remove my makeup as before I go to bed I clean my face properly!

Night:
At around 8 or 9 each night, I go upstairs to begin getting ready to go to sleep - although I don't for a few hours! First, I scrub my face with the Face Soap and Clarity wash from Soap and Glory and again use the weird pink pad! By doing this I get out all of the leftover makeup and dirt from the day and the feeling after using it makes my skin feel so good as it has a few things in it that help your skin! I then go in with the Clean&Clear Deep Cleansing Lotion for sensitive skin on a cotton pad to treat blackheads and spots - weirdly I also love the smell. After, I apply the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo to help with the dark marks where spots have been and the scaring on my face from when I was younger (I scratched one side of my face when I fell off the pavement which has left dark blue/brown scaring on my face which makes me paranoid although you can't see them as much now.. I know). Moving on - I apply the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream to my entire face focusing on my nose and the area below as they always go dry and crusty - ew! To finish the whole thing off, I apply the For Daily Youth 6 in 1 Lotion from Soap and Glory to my under eye area to brighten it up and reduce the appearance of premature ageing.

I hope you enjoyed reading this guys and I'm going to be changing my schedule of things. New posts will be up Wednesdays and Sundays as they are the best for me but sometimes I might upload extra ones every week. See you Sunday ~ Charlotte x
