10 Products I Regret Buying

I've been fascinated by makeup and always wanted to expand my collection of it since I was around 11 as my skin was pretty bad and all I wanted to do and spend my money on was covering it up. So, in trying to find products that cover up my skin and don't give me more problems, I've come across many products that have disappointed me and today I'd like to share them with you. (Some of these things people might like but for personally I don't).

The most disappointing buy for me out of the 10 things in the photo is the Nars Sheer Glow foundation in Medium 3 Stromboli. The colours are totally yellow based which is a shame as I have a neutral tone and when I have worn this in the past it makes me look like a crazy lady! The product itself is great but Nars, please, change up the base!

The Clinique Even Better foundation was one of my all time favourites until I realised it was causing an allergic reaction on my face and causing white bumps to appear under the surface of my skin - personally I wouldn't claim this foundation to be 'even better'.

The Collection mascara (orange tube) which claims to give you 'longer lashes' did not do anything to my lashes, but for the price of it I can't complain as now I know to not buy another one.

Next to the Collection mascara is another disappointing mascara - the Maybelline Colossal Cat Eye mascara. This mascara has a great formula but lacks in making my eyelashes longer or more voluminous which is sad for the price I paid and that Maybelline normally offer outstanding mascaras.

The MUA Luxe Power Brow was another shame as the pencil was very orange toned even for brown brows and the cream highlighter on the other end dried out within a week or two but was a real shame as I was going on holiday the next day and this was the only brow product I had as the others had ran out.

The Revlon Matte Balm in Audacious was a very disappointing product as I had saw Zoella talk about this and wear this on one of her videos but when I got it home it had a weird mint smell and taste to it and when applied it began to burn my lips - the colour is beautiful though so I don't know if it was just mine or the whole collection.

The ELF Blush in Peachy Keen was an awful purchase as it was dreadful pigmentation and a very chalky finish on my face. I don't understand why because another blush I bought from there - Mellow Mauve - is beautiful and has such a natural looking finish!

Another disappointing blush is the Sleek trio in Flame, these colours are all very red based and look unnatural on the skin - however when I swatched a tester in Superdrug they looked fine, it must have been the lighting but I was extremely disappointed when I opened it at home.

My eyeliner collection is vast in brand and price, however I have a few that have disappointed me but the worst out of them all is the Bourjois Liner Feutre. This eyeliner ran out after 3 weeks - 3 WEEKS, and to start off the formula was very dry and grey looking even though I picked up black. Fair to say that when I bought it it was not worth the price but I do believe Bourjois have changed their formula for it now so it might be better than when I tried it.

Last but not least is the ELF eyelid primer in nude. This is a very greasy primer and makes my eyelids which are already quite oily look worse and makes my eyeshadow slip off by the time I get out - I wouldn't recommend this to a friend but then again, I can't complain too much due to the price.

Is there anything you regret buying?

Product of the Week #1

This week I've been trying the 'natural eyes' look as I've wanted to get more into doing eyeshadow. So I had a scoot around the nearest Boots and picked up one of the new Revlon PhotoReady eyeshadow sets and was pleasantly surprised at how well the product works and looks!

I got the set in 501 Metropolitan and this includes a primer, 3 shadows and a finishing sparkle - it also comes with two double ended weird sponge applicators. The pigmentation in these shadows is lovely and they have a very creamy touch which helps them blend easily on the eye. I found when wearing this out to the beach with my friends, it lasted all day without a primer and they commented on how nice it looked. However, the top sparkle coat is very pigmented so I would only wear this if I was going out on a night as it looks too 'ott' for a daytime eyeshadow look.

For £7.99 this eyeshadow set is definitely worth picking up and it looked like they had a great variation of different shades and vibrancy's in the collections they sold, so I would say there's something for everyone. So if you're in Boots, I'd go and check out the Revlon stand and pick one of these up as they're a great size for travel and are an all rounder!

Has there been a product you've loved using this week?,

The British Tag

Today I thought that I would try something different because my absolute favourite youtuber (beautycrush) created this tag recently, and ever since I saw her video I've been wanting to do one myself as I thought it would be a laugh, so here we go!

1. How many cups of tea do you have a day? + How many sugars?

I have around 4-5 teas a day but I don't have sugar in any of them as I feel like it ruins it.

2. Favourite part of your sunday roast?
Probably yorkshire pudding and the roast potato with gravy on!!

3. Favourite dunking biscuit?
Bourbon all the way!! But the ginger snaps are a very close second!

4. Favourite quintessentially British pastime?
Camping, I don't know if thats too british but I relate it with British stuff!

5. Favourite word?
Microwave

6. Cockney rhyme slang?
Apples and Pears - Stairs

7. Favourite sweet?
Opal Fruits - which are now Starburst but my mum will not let me call them Starburst!

8. What would your pub be called?
Something weird like the Lucky Windmill Inn, it would make it stand out!

9. No.1 British person?
Ooo, Hugh Grant, Pierce Brosnan or Marcus Bentley (biased as he's from the north east)!

10. Favourite shop / restaurant?
Boots / Ticinos which is a little italians in Newcastle

11. What british song pops into your head?
Rule the World // Take That
The City // The 1975

12. Marmite.
Yes to the smell, no to the taste!

Give this tag a go if you want, British or not!
  Thank You,
Charl xx

July Favourites

I do not know where this year is going guys, it seems to have flown by. Another month down and another favourites to be done, lets get down to business!

This month I've been trying out a new moisturiser as I'm running out of my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion, so I thought I'd go back to an old favourite: Simple Kind to Skin Light Moisturiser. This moisturiser has really helped my skin this month and does its job, a definite rekindled love for this!

My next favourite is a replacement for my normal foundation and is better and cheaper! The 123 Perfect CC Cream from Bourjois is fantastic with 3 different colour pigments to counteract 3 colours on your face. I do believe this is also in a foundation form but I've been enjoying this so much I haven't thought of trying it! My shade is 52, and its a perfect match which is half the battle most of the time.

Burt's Bees have always been my favourite lip care range and they recently brought out a new line (I think) which consists of 3 new balms with 3 different purposes - Refreshing, Moisturising and Rejuvenating. All 3 balms have a different flavour, which is what drew me in. The Moisturising balm which contains mango butter was the one I opted for, as I thought it was the nicest smelling and after using it for 2-3 weeks now it is leaving my lips feeling lovely and makes it 10x better when applying lipstick!

Although it seems childish, I bought a Pretty Princess perfume with Belle on it - for obvious reasons including the fact she is the BEST princess! The perfume itself is rose scented and is just a good everyday smell which I've been reaching for - and for £5 who can blame you! (They also do Cinderella, Rapunzel and Sleeping Beauty!)

Maybelline Colour Tattoos have been mentioned in the beauty world for a good few months now, and due to the lovely lady which is Essie Button I was convinced to buy the Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze. This is just a bronze cream eyeshadow base which is lovely all over the lid and blended out into the crease - a look I've been going for for this month.

I would class Soap and Glory to be a luxury for myself so when I buy something from their stand I am very conscious that it has to be of good quality and what I want. The three things I've bought and used this month are two beautiful products which I DO NOT regret buying whatsoever! The Brow Archery in Brownie Points is such a good product, I especially love the felt tip side as I feel it gives me the most natural looking brows. The other item is the Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Raplumsel which is a lovely deep plum colour and definitely a great find. Another  item from Soap and Glory this month is the Solar Powder bronzer which is a perfect overall bronze colour, which is stubble enough to not make you orange but show that you're tanned.

The two mascaras featured are both repurchases of my two all time favourite mascaras! They're Real by Benefit has been in my makeup bag for the past 7 month and when it ran out I was gutted, so I was out the same day to purchase another. I honestly love this mascara so much it just does wonders for my short and sparse eyelashes! And it's the same for the L'oreal Volume Million Lashes, it manages to make my eyes wider and my lashes unreal! Praise to them both.

As for my random favourites this month, I have loved Orange Is The New Black - and now I have nothing else to watch as I managed to watch the full 2 seasons in 5 days. My favourite app this month is Instagram, its good to nosey on people haha and my favourite book/film has been Gone by Michael Grant and The Fault in Our Stars film!

Thank You

A Litte Update..

Hello Everyone. Its been a while to say the least! All I can do is apologise for not posting anything for ages, but hopefully during summer this will be easier as I will have more time. The only real few reasons I haven't been uploading was due to my gcses', not knowing what to post about and generally not having the time to sit down and concentrate for a few hours. I hope you understand this but now, I'm back for the long run and can begin to start posting things again!

Thank you xxx
