How to: Deal With Stress

Stress is one of the main things I used to struggle with, whether that be personal, emotional or social. And I've gathered a few tips that can help some people as they've helped me.

  1. Do more of what you love ~ This could be going to see a movie or going out with friend to the park. It all depends on you, but I've found that if I have more 'me' time I manage to be happier and enjoy my life more.
  2. Manage time better ~ I've found that having a personal planner and a school planner really helps me and also having a schedule/routine to stick to helps my stress keep at bay.
  3. Find out what the stress causing problem is ~ In the past, certain people used to make me stress out more so I resumed my friendship with them for a while and now we're all fine and I'm much happier.
  4. Discover what your boundaries are ~ You shouldn't ever be afraid to say no to anything and if something strikes panic in you or makes you nervous that's where your boundary ends.
  5. Don't always strive for perfection ~ Nobody will ever achieve perfection, be happy with what you have and if you're not try to work with whatever it is. By wanting perfection you're distorting on what it already is, which maybe someone elses perfection!
  6. Talk to someone ~ By talking to someone it can improve your mood, it can work by distracting you from your stressful thoughts and put you into a positive mood. It can also release built up stress.
  7. Sleep! ~ Most of the time a lack of sleep can cause stress so its probably best to get 8+ hours sleep, which I understand is hard when there's so much to do on social media platforms now! But stress can interrupt sleep as we have thoughts whirling round our head, stopping us relaxing and falling asleep :(
I hope this has helped some of you as I know how terrible stress can be!

The month of October will be a different one as I'm going to*TRY* to upload something everyday or every other day - God help me.

How do you deal with stress?

Review: Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25 Hour Nude Foundation

Wow that's a long name!! This foundation is a new release I believe so it hasn't been out that long but I've heard it mentioned a lot over the past 2 weeks so I had to buy it! The normal Lasting Finish 25 hour foundation is one I really don't like so I wasn't going to get my hopes up when trying this new one but my god, I love it!

The foundation is described as a medium coverage which I would agree but I think its a very good coverage as it covers up my red patches and red blemishes. This foundation is a dewy finish which isn't too much because I always fear that my skin will look oily. It has a fruity fragrance which isn't something I like but I can put up with. The shade range, I think it has 5/6 different shades and I got the shade 200 Soft Beige and its a perfect match - I think finding a perfect match a really hard task so I love this. It also has a SPF of 20 which is good to have no matter what the weather. It has a pump too for the foundation, so its easy to get the product out.

Since I bought it, I've been wearing it everyday for school and it doesn't transfer onto anything and stays in place all day. I don't know about the 25 hour stay because I'd never wear a foundation for that long but I've wore it for around 10/11 hours and it never budges! I'd even say this is my new favourite foundation!

In Boots, this foundation costs £7.99 and its so worth it!

Autumn Lips

The colder months seem to be creeping up onto us faster this year than any other, and its made me hunt for new and old autumn lipsticks which I love. In autumn and winter I love to wear dark lipsticks so that'll be a theme in this one!

Left to right:
Topshop 'Hazard'
Revlon (names rubbed off)
Collection Deluxe 'Prohibition'
Collection Gothic 'Revenge'
Revlon Moisture Stain 'Persian Passion'

I don't know why I love these kinds of colours but all of the lipsticks aren't drying and all have a really good pigmentation/staying power! The darker colours in this are so nice and they make me look pale which is what I like in the autumn/winter! I also really like MACs' Rebel and Russian Red in autumn/winter.

What lipstick shades are your favourite in autumn?

Hazard vs Russian Red

For a long time now I have loved my MAC Russian Red lipstick, I've had two before and I'm on my 3rd stick. Recently, MACs lipstick prices have went up by 50p - of course that isn't going to break the bank, but I wanted to find a lipstick that is somewhat similar to it and that was a bit cheaper as I manage to go through it quickly. And I have!!

Introducing, Topshops Hazard lipstick! I'm sure there are many dupes of Russian Red in the drugstore but I don't like their formulas and by god do I love this Topshop lipstick! Its not exactly like Russian Red as its not as pigmented as it, but you can't compete with the pigmentation of MAC lipsticks!

Both Hazard and Russian Red are matte but moisturising which is something I love in any lipstick so its a definite win! And their colours are so similar.

Topshop Hazard on the top, MAC Russian Red on the bottom.
As you can tell, Russian Red applies a bit smoother than Hazard but on lips theres practically no difference, in love!

First Impressions: Little Mix All About Eyes Eyeshadow Palette

Amelia Liana kept talking about this palette and since she's such an enabler, the first chance I had to buy it - I did! The Little Mix girls must've designed the packaging and chose the colours for the palette, and they've done a very good job.

It comes with 6 eye shadows and a double ended weird sponge applicator which I don't use, but its nice they've included one. The colours are all neutral colours which is something I love because I'm not one for dramatic colours on my eyes. The colours are quite earthy and brown/gold toned which I think can compliment every skin tone so its very versatile.

The packaging is quite flimsy and is made of cardboard which I'd be scared incase it was squashed if I was travelling so I might have to be careful. It also doesn't come with a mirror so you'd need to use another when applying the shadows. The shadows themselves are quite pigmented and creamy so they seem like they would blend nicely and build up to a good colour.

The palette costs £3.19 so its a good price for a palette and the colours are so lovely, I'm so glad I bought it!

Review: Stila Convertible Colour Lip and Cheek Stain

For a long time now, the Stila Convertible Colours have been mentioned everywhere on the Internet! However, I never had a chance to pick one up as I wasn't aware they sold Stila in Boots (stupidly)! So, last weekend I decided to pick up one of them and this is the one i chose!

I chose the colour 'lilium' which is a pretty peachy pink and looks lovely on my skin so it was a winner! The packaging is gorgeous for one, I love the colour and the pattern on the front of it. The product has a large mirror in with it and there is a lot of product. Normally, I wouldn't opt for a cream blush but this is an exception as it is not sticky - which was my biggest fear - and it works just as well on my lips which is quite rare I think!

Have you tried any of the Stila Convertible Colour blushes?

Product of the Week #5

In duty free, they do a lot of exclusive products and I managed to pick up one of the 3 products that Lancรดme do for the airport. This palette is the Absolu Au Naturel which out of the 3 is the most natural looking once applied which is what I prefer. The palette cost £34.95 and you get a powder, blush, 10 eye shadows, 2 different coloured concealers, 2 lip glosses, an eyebrow pencil, an eyeliner, a lip brush, an eye brush, a powder brush, a sponge and a miniature Virtuรดse mascara. So you definitely get your moneys worth!

The palette comes in a velvet texture sleeve and the palette itself is in a shiny black plastic case with a large mirror which makes it easy to use. For the second layer of the palette, it slides out from underneath which makes it very compact and easy for travelling! I think I've found my new favourite palette as it has everything I would need in it.

What do you think of this palette?
